Acupuncture is great at managing all kinds of pain and other symptoms. If you have specific questions, don't hesitate to reach out.
Yes. Children and teens generally respond very well to acupuncture. We just ask that the child is willing and a parent or guardian must consent.
No, we do not reuse needles. We use sterile needles designed for one time use and safely dispose of them.
Treatment plans vary depending on the severity and duration of the condition being treated. Most conditions respond best to regular, frequent treatments (2 or 3 times per week) at first. After progress is made, treatment frequency generally decreases to a maintenance schedule. For some this is 1 time per week, for others it’s biweekly or even less. Your acupuncturist will discuss an appropriate treatment schedule at your first visit.
Some insurance plans do cover acupuncture, though we do not bill insurance. Instead we have an affordable sliding scale and we can provide you with a superbill if you would like to submit it to your insurance company.
At VCA, we treat patients in a comfortable and relaxing group setting. This means we have recliners in a large room instead of tables and treat with acupuncture points mostly below the knees and elbows so the patients remain fully clothed. This style allows us to keep our fees low so that you can get the regular treatment you need to see results.
Our sliding scale is $25-$40 per acupuncture treatment, plus a one-time $10 initial consultation fee. You pay what you feel you can afford to maintain your treatment plan; there is never income verification. The amount you pay doesn’t affect your treatment. We want you to come in often enough to get better and stay that way. The sliding scale is our way of making that possible.

We’re Close and Convenient.

Mary Lorito, RN, BS
Reiki Master
Healing Arts Practitioner
Mary Lorito practices the ancient healing tradition of energy medicine and Reiki through her practice Caring Hands Open Hearts, LLC.

Through energy medicine we are able to affect change at the core level of our being; the body, mind, soul and spirit are healed in order to achieve changes we dream of having in our life. A luminous energy field surrounds the human body and holds within it a record (or imprint) of our emotional, physical, and spiritual history. These imprints predispose us to the way we age and the way we heal. When we heal our energy field through energy medicine such as Reiki, our physical bodies and emotions heal.

This work can support you in creating a clearer vision of your life, where you will be able to see and act on your opportunities from a healed place within yourself, from a place of joy and peace!

Mary works with both children and adults. She has her certification in pediatric nursing and in Luminous Energy Medicine. She is also a holistic stress management instructor. In addition, Mary is a certified service provider for a charitable organization partnered with Penn Medicine and Philadelphia area hospitals, as well as Kennedy Hospital in New Jersey, to support women with breast cancer and their healing process with Reiki.
